Thoughts on the complicated subject of hair bows

I never stopped to consider the hair bow (or “clippie”) until my wife let her hair grow long. After all, why would a balding man put much thought into hair bows? I knew enough to understand that rubber bands would get tangled, and that real hair bows (or “scrunchies” as I am told they are usually called), are normally cloth lined so that the hair bow doesn’t pull. That was the sum total of my hair bow knowledge until my wife’s hair passed shoulder length. Now finding the right hair bow (not too tight, not too sticky, etc.) is my goal, if only to stop talking about hair bows. Ahhh…marriage.
